Jameson “Sonny” Duross

Jameson Duross (Co-Dramaturg and Storytelling Coach), popularly known as "Sonny", holds an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from FMCC and is an accomplished seasoned actor, having been in over 100 musicals, plays, cabarets, independent films, and other professional projects. He first began acting back in Fall 2001, starring in his middle school musical, Teens in Tinseltown, then went on hiatus until he picked up acting again in high school in Spring 2004 with the musical, The Boyfriend. He has been at it ever since and has proudly not gone a single year without participating in at least one project. He is highly honored to have met so many awesome people, established such wonderful friendships, and experienced extremely amazing opportunities throughout his life. Sonny has appeared in several Trust Your Gut Productions, including Looking For the Little Mouse (Scorbute), Antigone (Hæmon), and Murder at the Pie Auction (Mark), and has taught with the Summer Academy since 2022. Mr. Duross is also a published author, having published two books of poetry in 2013 -- Muse & Other Poems and Feel: Poems of Emotion -- and later combined them into a single volume with added material in 2015 under the title Musings & Emotions. He published his latest book of poetry, Happy Valentine's Day, in 2019. He enjoys creating immensely, and has numerous YA Fantasy/Fiction novels in the works, including two different vampire series and a monster hunter series. Sonny is also excitedly working on producing his very first music album, which contains nearly two dozen original songs. In his spare time he enjoys reading, writing, watching TV, playing video games, surfing the web, sleeping, shopping, and spending time with friends. He currently resides in upstate New York, where he was born and raised, and has worked at his local library for 20 years as Library Assistant, specializing in Youth Services.
