Michael Maricondi (TYGP Co-Founder/Creative Director, Summer Academy Lead Teaching Artist), holds a High Honors H.S. Diploma in Theatre and Music Studies from Cooperative Arts & Humanities H.S. of New Haven, CT, a BFA in Theatre Performance and Theatre Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts (CAP21) and a BAC+6/Master’s Equivalent in Cinema Performance and Cinema Studies from Acting International in Paris, France, under the pedagogy of the late Robert Cordier. He has appeared in numerous productions on three continents, including The Good Person of New Haven (“Junior”, Long Wharf Theatre), Cupid & Psyche (“Mercury”, New Jersey Repertory Theatre), for which he received a New York Times Review, Being Audrey (“Pablo & Others, The Transport Group), À La Recherche de la Petite Souris (“Scorbute”, Paris, France and Casablanca, Morocco), Three Pianos (Florida Studio Theatre), and as lead tenor falsetto in Sharon Klein Productions’ Who Loves You (Tropicana, Florida Studio Theatre, National Tour).  Locally, he has appeared in several productions including Alyssa Rizzo’s Picture of David (Ben/The Picture), and TYGP’s original adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oberon/Theseus).  He has written over a dozen plays and musicals including When Push Comes to Shove (with collaborator, Rachel Bloom), Looking For the Little Mouse (Paris, France, New York), Antigone (which received a rave review from Patrick White in Nippertown), What Fairy Tale is This, Anyway?! (NYC), and Time it Is: To Music (Theatre For the New City, NYC).  Michael has directed and developed several musicals and plays, including Picture of David, Looking For the Little Mouse, Antigone, Blithe Spirit, Soccer Moms, takingmealsinadollhouse, Murder at the Pie Auction, Blax: The Musical, and Prevention in Act-ion with the Gloversville Youth Coalition, in addition to collaborations with Caroga Arts Collective, The Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association, Fulton County Regional SPCA, Gloversville Board of Education and Class of 2026, I Can Breathe & I Will Speak, and The Gloversville Public Library. Mr. Maricondi is an accomplished educator with over 20 years of experience teaching not only the performing arts, but also French, essay composition, vocal pedagogy, accent reduction and more to students aged 5 to 95.  He served as The Glove Theatre’s Education Committee Chair and Co-Production Committee Chair from 2021-mid 2022, and The Glove Theatre’s General Manager from mid 2022 through 2024.  During this time, he founded his Summer Academy, which grew from an initial group of 9 students to over 25 students in the 4 years it was allowed to run at The Glove.  Mr. Maricondi now sits on the Education Committee of Caroga Arts Collective, for which he is also a summer arts educator, specializing in Symphonic Appreciation and Music Narrative. Michael’s unique brand of pedagogy, belief in student autonomy, and wide breadth of knowledge and experience allow him to help lead, curate, and foster new talent, new works, and new voices through Trust Your Gut Productions, founded in 2009 with his late mother, Carol-Anne Gaetano, to whom he dedicates every Trust Your Gut Production; past, present, and future.
