Academy Vocal Coach

Sarah Dworman (she/her) is a (soon to be) graduate of Vassar College with a degree in Creative Writing and Vocal Performance. Her vocal training is based on a mixture of Classical and Contemporary techniques, specializing in Musical Theater and Operatic stylings. She has studied with a variety of coaches, including Drew Minter, Natalie Weiss, and Lisa Franklin. Her toolbox allows her to stretch from golden age theatrical soprano, to baroque Italian opera, to modern pop & rock. As an actress, she holds a soft spot for Shakespearean performance and Musical Theater. Her training hails from Vassar College, The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, and London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has performed in over 50 (and counting!) plays, musicals, cabarets, concerts, and operas across the USA and Europe. Some of these credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream ("Hermia," London), The Fiddler on the Roof ("Hodel," Proctor's Theater), Daddy Long Legs ("Jerusha," The Glove Theater), and Romeo and Juliet ("Nurse," TYGP). As a member of Idlewild Theater Troupe, Sarah has been a head writer/devisor of new plays Daughters of the Night and Excuse the Mess!, both of which she starred in. She's currently in the process of writing her own musical and play. She has been a music director for experimental theater as well as her a capella group, The Vassar Night Owls. Sarah has been on the stage non stop since she was seven years old. She began her journey in Gloversville, supported by the rich theatrical community that continues to show young people the importance and viability of the arts. She is ecstatic to be able to give back to that community. SarahDworman.com, Instagram: instagram.com/skmdworman
